Choose Ohio First

Marietta College is excited to offer you the opportunity to apply for the Choose Ohio First Scholarship for the 2025-26 academic year! The Choose Ohio First Scholarship is part of Ohio’s strategic effort to increase the number of graduates in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields at Marietta College in the following majors: Actuarial Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science and Information Systems, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geology, Health Science, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Petroleum Engineering, Physics, Masters in Psychology, and the Physician Assistant Program. Eligible students must be residents of Ohio. The selected recipients could receive a Choose Ohio First Scholarship of up to $5,500 annually based on eligibility requirements and funding levels as determined by the State of Ohio. Annual award amounts are subject to change based on the Ohio budget and Ohio Revised Code.

To be considered for the Choose Ohio First Scholarship, a student must:

Selections will be made by the designated academic department and the Office of Student Financial Services. Financial need is not a requirement, though may be considered. Priority Deadline is March 1st, 2025.  Secondary deadline is May 1st, 2025.  Upon confirmation of the award and the student’s eligibility, this scholarship will be awarded to the student’s financial aid package. Students must major in a STEM field and maintain a Cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 to renew the scholarship year-to-year. Students are also required to complete a Work-Based Learning Experience in their field of study at least once during their enrollment.
